My Morning Skincare Routine
Having a complicated skincare routine can really eat into your morning. A 3 step routine is all you need, keep it simple with a cleanse followed up by antioxidants and SPF. Your AM routine is all about protecting the skin from exterior damage while your PM routine is for correcting — keep ingredients like AHA’s, retinols and other exfoliating actives in your PM routine.
SAMPLE MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE:
GENTLE CLEANSE: start off with a creamy, hydrating or non-active gel cleanser depending on your skin type. This is gentle enough to remove the products from last nights application, any oil, debris or sweat from sleeping and leave you with a blank canvas for the next products.
ANTIOXIDANT SERUM: you can find antioxidants in so many different forms but my favorite is a serum fit for your skin type. Some are hydrating, others focus on packing that antioxidant punch, etc. This is going on after your cleanse but before SPF and will work as an added layer of protection from enviromental damage and premature aging.
SPF MOISTURIZER: skip additional steps by combining your SPF and moisturizer into one product. You can find a formula that best suits your skin — hydrating, matte, tinted, etc! No matter the one you choose, be sure it is broad spectrum (UVA + UVB) and has an protecting factor of 30 or more. Read more about the different SPF formulas we carry here.
